Our desire and intent is to provide the most suitable and effective counselling solutions possible to individuals, couples and families. Breathe Counselling Midland is located upstairs in the heritage listed WA Bank building, across the road from Midland Gateway Shopping Centre, is easily accessible with close access to bus routes and the Midland Train Station. Free street parking is available outside on the Great Eastern Highway and in the (green) fenced area behind the building. Access to parking and the counselling room via Victoria Street.

Gannon is a Provisional Psychologist with a background in Psychology, Philosophy, Ethics, and Bioethics; with experience in public and private clinical healthcare and community mental health settings, across the lifespan of children to the elderly, supporting; individuals, couples, families and groups.

Walking alongside people, within a supportive environment, Gannon creates a safe space for the sharing of personal stories. He allows people to cultivate insight and awareness of themselves, coupled with introducing concepts of practical enhanced coping skills, to empower people to cope more effectively with the life and mental health issues that they may encounter.

Gannon is passionate about and believes in guiding people to enhance their own personal well-being in order to foster positive and sustainable relationships with themselves and with other people in all types of environments.

Applying the best available research, Gannon considers people’s unique characteristics, values, preferences, circumstances, and life goals. He works with clients to assist them in identifying the most appropriate approach and treatment plan to address the problem that best fits the individual’s own unique situation in order to help them to improve their lives.

Gannon utilises a wide range of evidence-based approaches and treatments, including psycho-education, and the therapeutic interventions of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR),  and Motivational Interviewing (MI). He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).

Richie has worked in private practice, in the community sector with Relationships Australia and in healthcare. He has extensive experience working with children, individuals, couples, and families. Further to his relationship counselling experience, he has a specialty in health services and provided support to those with chronic and terminal illnesses throughout their journey including supporting those who are struggling with grief and bereavement.

Richie walks gently with his clients on their journey towards restoration and/or personal growth. Richie is known for providing a calm and safe environment for his clients to do their work. He ensures he is nonjudgmental, attentive and respectful of each client’s own story. He is an engaging counsellor who applies intentional, proactive modalities of therapy. Richie works from a person-centred integrated approach. He helps his clients to gain personal insights as they work towards self-awareness. Richie uses a mixture of reflective practices, in conjunction with practical measures and tasks to help clients on their healing journey.

In Addition to his counselling, Richie is passionate about philosophy, ethics, organisational culture, team dynamics and leadership, and provides coaching to individuals and groups

Stephanie is passionate about providing a safe, insightful space for others, holding a belief that healthy connections foster healthy minds and personal growth. Integrating Psychodynamic, Attachment-focussed and Emotion-focussed therapies, Stephanie is attentive and creative in her approach and has prior experience supporting individuals, couples, children and families to address diverse needs, including anxiety, depression, grief, behavioural difficulties and social issues.

Stephanie specialises in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and is passionate about assisting individuals and couples to build greater intimacy and healthier relationships.

Candy is a gently perceptive, compassionate and approachable therapist who nurtures and builds a secure, reflective space for clients. She is passionate about connection and values the importance of establishing whole and insightful relationships within one’s unique environment.  Candy interacts with clients in a non-judgemental, respectful manner. She supports individuals, children, couples and families to better address diverse needs, such as grief, depression, behavioural difficulties, relationship issues and anxiety. Candy incorporates a number of different counselling modalities in therapy, Person-Centered Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment based therapy, Mindfulness Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.

Candy is registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and is also member of CCAA
