Pamela Scott-Gale

Pamela is a compassionate, trauma-informed counsellor and clinical supervisor who has a thorough and expansive background in supporting individuals, couples and families. She has a particular interest in psyche-education, evidence-based research, professional development and clinical supervision. Her own life experiences and training have enabled her the skills and opportunities to hone her skills and knowledge through assisting people, as well as through continuous professional development. Her interests in therapeutic work involve family work, relationships, abuse (sexual, physical, emotional and psychological), addictions, anxiety, stress, depression, grief, bereavement and loss, trauma and crisis work, and post-traumatic stress.

Pamela is proficient in the following therapy models; Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Emotionally Focused Therapy; Existential; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Gestalt; Internal Family Systems; Mindfulness; Narrative Therapy; Psychoeducation; Psychotherapy; Rogerian Psychotherapy; Solution-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Pamela has been a counsellor, a registered general nurse with over forty years of experience and a qualified clinical teacher with experience in management and advanced clinical crisis. Her therapy always involves building a supportive, interpersonal relationship with her clients, ensuring that the best practices and standards of clinical practice are provided.

Pamela’s professional background has varied from management to education across the public and private sectors as a registered nurse. She has also served overseas in post-war conflict environments with the Queen Alexander Royal Army Nursing Corps in the Falkland Isles. Pamela is registered as a Level 4 Counsellor with Australian Counselling Association.
